Glowing ever so brightly there I see that sneaky invader residing inside of me! Ahh, but monstrously large as it is it is glowing with that glucose infused with radiation all by itself; completely and utterly contained. All other PET Scan images are dark, not one bitty bit of glowing in them! As for the monster tumor it has not invaded anything else; had any more time gone by before treatments began I clearly understand the battle-plan would have been much different. As it is the official diagnosis is Cervical Cancer Stage III B; scary but survivable. In fact Dr. B says I will have residual radiation effects which I'll begin noticing around age 78 to 80...hmmm, currently at nearly 59 I think I can handle that.
Tomorrow I'll have another blood draw to see if another transfusion is in order; gotta get this blood loss to stop. Now that I've got chemo and radiation in me the tumor should begin shrinking faster and this won't be as much of an issue. Close watch is being kept on my liver, kidneys, spleen and my poor squished bladder. There won't be any more pelvic exams, no scope peeks either for the same reason surgery isn't possible: the chances of me bleeding out are just too much of a risk because of that tumor.
So far so good on tolerating the treatments; I've been told I won't escape the deep fatigue side effects but I asked the docs how I would know since I'm exhausted most of the time anyway, haha!
Anyways it's been a good day, seeing is believing when it comes to this cancer and seeing it all neatly tucked into itself is wonderful; it makes obliterating it an easy target. I look forward to the day the next PET Scan is completely dark. ~~nitie nite~~

I look forward to your progress towards better health and to reading about this journey you are so generous to share with us. Your grace under fire is miraculous in itself and would be impressive even under lesser circumstances. Ginger, take my hand as I am walking with you in spirit.

ReplyDeleteGinger,
ReplyDeleteDid you know that was me? I couldn't figure out how to sign my name on this blog for quite awhile...my Internet guru was busy! I was making anon comments and wasn't even putting my name into the body of the post (doh!).
