Thorns on rose stems seem small inconvenience in order to appreciate the velvety petals and glorious fragrance; just like life. We all have thorns to deal with but they don't (and shouldn't) prevent us from enjoying the spectacular wonders all around us. Wonders like the warmth of the early morning sun, the birds conversing with each other or the dew-kissed grass on bare toes. I haven't just lately developed an appreciation for the joys in life, I've been like this for many years. The thorns have their own purposes and I even try to find the beauty in them. Cancer is a major thorn yet having it has already afforded me the opportunity to share my faith with others.
It's been a physically challenging day for me, on Monday I'm slated to have more blood transfused. This battle isn't very rosey but I'll claw my way through the thorns knowing with God's strength I'm going to win this battle. ~~Sleep well, I intend to!~
